Our own time and ops apps
Our own apps for time, invoicing and project costs, replacing Harvest.
Timekeeping, invoicing and project costs used to run through Harvest. We built our own apps to replace it, and they are rolling out across our companies one at a time this fall, starting with the smaller ones.
How it was built
Most of the code was written by AI coding agents, with a whole team around them. Testers report bugs in a Slack channel. An AI watches the channel, picks each bug up, and sends it to be fixed, tested and redeployed. Every bug lands on a Kanban board automatically, and the AI moves it to Deployed. A person then tests the fix and moves it to Done or Rejected.
New features and business rules go through a product owner, not through the agents. The agents write the code; people decide what it should do and whether it works.
