The Lab Itself
The source for this site: static pages, live project data, and a critter.
SD Labs is where Smart Data engineers put the things they build between client projects. The site lists itself like any other entry.
How it is built
- Astro builds every page as static HTML; the content lives in Sanity
- Commits, releases and pull requests come from each project's own GitHub repo at build time, and the lab log is built from them
- Open roles come live from our applicant tracking system
- The savings receipt only counts software we stopped paying for because something here replaced it
- Hosted on Cloudflare Pages
The critter
The small creature at the bottom of the screen is drawn from the Smart Data mark, one pixel at a time. He walks the page, prints the receipt, holds the sign in the footer, points at things worth clicking, and goes looking when a page is missing. Click him and see.
How projects get added
Smart Data staff send entries through an internal form, and each one is reviewed before it goes live.
